Top Moments & Looks From The 2018 BET Awards

Sunday 24th June, was all about the BET Awards which took place at Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.  Honouring great achievements in the past year in entertainment, music, sports, television and movies. The celebrity infused event was hosted by Jamie Foxx who also had an after party to continue the celebrations which many of the A list stars attended.

Stefflon Don no doubt did not come to the BET awards to play and poised pure class in her stunning dazzling number. I am loving the sophisticated look she has gone for over her sexy raunchy looks, rising straight to the occasion.

King Kendrick Lamar won a double award by taking home “Best male hip hop artist” and “Album of the year for DAMN”. Well deserved and at no surprise time and time again, Kendrick proves that consciousness does indeed sell. King! Cardi B ‘s blessings just keep flowing in glory as she goes from her rap breakthrough, becoming engaged, announcing her pregnancy and now winning “Best female hip hop artist”. She was not there to collect the award but shared a heartfelt message of gratitude on Instagram as she prioritises mum mode.

Beyoncé made lemonade and won “Best female R&B/pop artist”. With the release of Meek Mill still being pretty fresh. It has been expected by many that he would perform at most the upcoming iconic events such as Summer Jam, in New Jersey, earlier this month and the rumours were true about the 2018 BET awards. Meek Mill’s gripping performance of “Stay Woke” hence the title, highlights police harassment which is certainly something he can strongly relate too which features Miguel. Some of the vivid messages within his lyrics read, “How can I pledge allegiance to the flag when they killing all our sons, all our dads?”

One of my fav Hip Hop couples besides Black Love advocates Remy Ma & Papoose. Mr and Mrs Davis, formerly known as Keyshia Ka’Oir & Gucci Mane, who looked absolutely breathtaking together as they worked the red carpet.

Snoop Dogg released his debut album “Doggystyle” 25 years ago, which for those who remember was an incredible time for music back then. The music was insane whilst Snoop’s hair was still popping from his waves before the locs he now wears. Throwing back his debut G-Funk classic “What’s my name”. Snoop then went on to perform Dr Dre’s  Hip Hop classic “The next episode” before he took the awards show to church with a few snippets off his new gospel album Bible of Love.
